Early Life: Mumtaz was born to Abdul Salim Askari and Shadi Habib Agha on 31st July 1947 in Bombay, British India. Her family hailed from Mashhad, Iran. Her parents divorced when she was just one year old. She has a younger sister named Malika, who was married to wrestler and Indian actor Randhawa, the younger brother of wrestler and actor Dara Singh.
Career Highlights: Mumtaz began her acting career at the age of 11, debuting in the film "Sone Ki Chidiya" in 1958. She initially appeared in smaller roles but rose to fame with her performance in "Do Raaste" (1969).
