Deepika Chikhalia is an Indian actress who gained immense popularity for her portrayal of Sita in the epic television series "Ramayan" (1987-1988). Born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Deepika started her acting career at a young age.
She made her debut in the film industry with the movie "Sun Meri Laila" in 1983.
However, it was her role as Sita in Ramanand Sagar's "Ramayan" that catapulted her to fame across India. The series, based on the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, became a cultural phenomenon and Deepika's portrayal of Sita earned her widespread recognition and adoration.
Apart from her iconic role in "Ramayan," Deepika has acted in several other Hindi and regional language films.
